About our Historic Bed and Breakfast

A Beautiful St. Augustine Florida Inn

The Victorian House Bed & Breakfast is centrally located in the heart of St. Augustine’s Historic District, Old Town. This beautiful St. Augustine inn is nestled between the two oldest streets in America (Aviles and Cadiz). Our inn is tucked away from traffic noises but is a close walk to the center of town, City Marina at the bayfront and to historic sites and activities. Sit on our porch, listen to the horse-drawn carriages clip-clop down Aviles Street and experience the charm and comfort of our inn. St. Augustine revered as a gateway through time, a city in which to discover the early history of Florida as well as America’s oldest community. Having prospered for more than 450 years, St. Augustine is proud to be referred to as the Oldest City in the United States.

Victorian House Bed & Breakfast is built on a slight hill having steps up to all entrances in accommodation with the seafaring nature of St Augustine. There are guest rooms in both the Main House and in the Carriage House–each lovingly trimmed with unique touches and comforting heirlooms. For the utmost convenience, all guest rooms in our inn feature private baths. Many of our guest rooms also feautre fireplaces, balconies and enclosed porches.

Though we’re located in St. Augustine’s beautiful historic district, we’re not far from the beach, outlet shopping, local attractions, and so many great things to do it will make your head spin!

History

Victorian House Bed & Breakfast was built in 1895 by Albert Rogero, descendant of Minorcan colonists who migrated to St. Augustine from New Smyrna in 1777. The Rogeros also owned the secondary house located at 23 Aviles (formerly Hospital Street) that was used as a carriage house.

A few owners later, Ms. Mary Myers purchased the property and retained the main house as her private residence for over 30 years continuing the tradition of renting the rooms of the Aviles house. In 1982, Ms. Daisy Morden purchased the two buildings from Ms. Myers opening the first home converted to a bed and breakfast, the Victorian House Bed & Breakfast.
